ABOUT THE SHOP

Known in several different guises, the shop was once Kirkstone Galleries, then Touchstone Interiors and then finally becoming part of Chesters in August 2007. Despite having only fairly recently bought the shop, Steph had actually spent 18 years as the buyer when it was Kirkstone Galleries.
Today Chesters is well known for being an interesting and unusual place to shop. We sell cards, toys, kitchenware, books, furniture, jewellery and stationary. We stock big name designers and brands such as Kartell, Nick Munro, Ren and This Works alongside smaller individual companies like Hotcakes and Sonya Bennett.
Chesters shop is an exciting mix of modern and vintage, classic designers, big names and individual designers and often described happily by those who come across us for the first time as ‘not what you would expect to find in the Lakes!’
